THANCKES CAR PARK - Update from Cornwall Councillor R Parsonage
From your Cornwall Councillor – Rob Parsonage
“We
fought to stop the introduction of parking charges at Thanckes Car Park and
while the public consultation was against such introduction, The Council
Administration decided that Cornwall Council would introduce such charging.
The
Council has stated that where annual permits are available, these will be set
up ready for purchase via Cornwall Council’s website prior to the charges
starting. They are intending to put advance notification in the car parks with
these dates on.
Thanckes Park,
Torpoint – machine installation 26 June charging to start 6 July
I
will continue to fight for longer-term free permits for Friends of Thanckes
Park who undertake so much vital work in the area, and other volunteer
organisations, and for the teachers and students at Torpoint junior
school/college.
The
first 1hour is free, however, motorists must obtain a ticket for this from the
machine as this will show arrival time. This is explained on the tariff board.
Please
do contact me should you need any additional information about any of these
sites. Cllr.rob.parsonage@cornwall.gov.uk
