Councillor Mr Keiran Moon (East Ward)
keiran.moon@torpointtowncouncil.gov.ukBiography
As a multi-generational Torpointer, I want my home town to grow, to prosper, and to thrive. My father, sister, (and family), as well as extended family all live in Torpoint.I believe that some decisions can only be made by getting involved / engaging at some level in local government, and I have always believed that you should be the change you want to see. This is why I joined the town council, before and more recently again.
I have a working background in ICT, Local Government, law enforcement, and volunteer at St. James Church in Torpoint.
I attended all of Torpoint’s schools, before completing my undergraduate degree at Exeter in English literature and ICT, and later graduated from Marjon University Plymouth with an MA in children and young adult literature.
I have a strong interest in educational needs and disabilities due in part to my own neurological difference, dyslexia and disability, but also because I recognise that the measure of a truly healthy and functioning community, is how it treats, supports and encourages all of its members. From the high flying and totally independent, to those who need assistance, adjustments or dedicated care, everyone in our town deserves the opportunity to take part in civic life and to enjoy all that Torpoint has to offer. This is why I sit on the disability and inclusion panel, and work with stakeholders such as Beat4autism, Guardup boxing and the Church of England to help achieve the best outcomes for our residents.
